Välkomna till GEIGERs tredje arrangemang våren 2026, det år vi fyller 20 år som arrangör i Göteborg. Denna kväll blir det storfrämmat av bland andra Kaffe Matthews (UK) och Mats Gustafsson som dels gör varsitt soloset men också komponerat ny musik till ensemble Gahlmm (sthlm/gbg). Utöver detta gör även there are no more four seasons en konsert. Så, en fullspäckad kväll på Cinnober Teater vilket gör att vi börjar lite tidigare än vanligt. Kl. 18.00 startar och dörrarna öppnas 17.30 så kom gärna i tid. Vi släpper ogärna in under pågående konsert om det är möjligt.

GAHLMM is a group of friends who happen to engage in several different categories of experimental music: free improv, scored music and electronic sound art. Since the beginning, their ambition has been to present music that the different members find important with regard to their wildly different backgrounds. They are in short building up a personal repertoire that utilizes all their musical and technical resources, from acoustic instruments to Buchlas, turntables and magical percussion, and their choices of composing collaborators mirror this kaleidoscopic world.
They perform music by Paula Mathusen, Tony Blomdahl, Vinyl -Terror & -Horror, Lasse Marhaug, Dror Feiler and more.

Mats Gustavsson – Hidros Orbital
“A new composition and audio construction based on texts by Danille Collobert (1940-1978) and Johan Jönsson (1966). A deeper audio research of the obsession of death and destination of mankind. An experimental instrumental entity focusing on the borderlines of madness and the travels within. An exploration where frictions between acoustic and electronic instruments will symbolize and create musical form and content. Pre-recorded material on special-cut vinyls of previous acoustic research will be used as counterpoint to real-time improvisations and live processed actions. The pre-cut vinyls will also be used as mechanical preparations and tools for the string instrument and contact-miced objects as well as sound-sources for direct interplay and interactions within the ensemble. Kaffe Matthews – Nigredo Bloom
Calcination, Solution, Separation, Conjunction, Putrefaction, Congelation, Sibation, Sublimation, Fermentation, Exaltation, Multiplication, Projection, a Recirculation?
In her return to live solo performance in 2021, Matthews has been working with a noise filter instrument designed around the alchemical principles of 15th century British alchemist George Ripley. The astonishing new audio and compositional paths she has discovered have taken her on a research trip into the practice of alchemy itself. Here she has discovered the 12 gates which she will practically undertake through chemical experiments and processes, recording every activity as she goes, then analysing the frequencies at every level of her results from which she will create a score for the six players. This she will bring to a collaborative interpretation workshop with the ensemble, after which the score system will be determined, enabling the final path for consumption, so bursting the Toad and finding the Gold at every performance.
Clocks, feathers, square waves, salt, solutions dissolving, rotting, congealing, fermenting, separating, multiplying, always living and vibrating, recombining at different speeds and temperatures, heat, ice, all colours, throbbing, sounding, erupting. The clocks determining, the square waves pulsing. Time shifting.
Matthews has a Zoology degree in which she devised and performed many biochemical experiments. She is also a highly skilled and inventive vegan chef with a performance history since 1992. Her sound studio has a wet area, and she has sensitive analysis and audio video recording equipment. Support for her methods will also be offered by artist and Earth’s micro materials researcher, Martin Howse.

Violinisten George Kentros och elektroniska musikern Mattias Petersson utgör duon there are no more four seasons (nomoremusic.se). De tar historiska musikverk och applicerar nutida strategier för att fråga hur dessa verk hade blivit om de hade skrivits idag. Deras självbetitlade debutCD från 2008 utnämndes till en av decenniets främsta inspelningar av DN, och de har spelat sina omgörningar av bl a Ravel, Biber, och Johan Strauss Jr. på konserthus, underjordiska klubbar och elektroniska musikfestivaler på fem kontinenter.
The violinist George Kentros and the electronic composer Mattias Petersson comprise the duo there are no more four seasons (nomoremusic.se), which takes historical musical works and applies contemporary strategies in order to ask what these pieces might have sounded like if they had been composed today. Their self-titled debut CD from 2008 was named one of the ten best classical recordings of the decade by the Swedish daily Dagens Nyheter and the duo have gone on to recompose works by among others Ravel, Biber, and Johan Strauss Jr. and perform them in concert halls, underground clubs and electronic festivals.
